Girl Scouts of
the USA is committed to helping adults grow in skills. By assisting individuals
in reaching their full potential, the organization becomes increasingly
effective. Adult training encourages and assists each volunteer in clarifying
their personal goals. In addition, consistent training messages provide
continuity for the program.
Girl Scouts of
Otahki Council strives to provide training for all volunteer positions.
Training is available
on many levels and is designed to meet your on-going needs as you develop
and grow in your position. You are encouraged to take advantage of these
opportunities.
Trainers
Council Trainers are volunteers with an interest in adult education. If
selected for a position, they participate in a Train-the-Trainer workshop
and complete an internship before being appointed as an experienced Council
Trainer. Volunteers interested in becoming council trainers should contact
the Service Center.
Participants
Adult Education opportunities are available to any registered adult. Council
policy states that Basic Leadership Training is required for all group
leaders and assistants.
Training Schedule/Registration
Training schedules are distributed to all leaders and assistant leaders
in August and December through the "In The Loop" publication.
Dates and descriptions of sessions are included as well as registration
information. Training sessions can be requested and arranged in the Service
Unit. Check with your Membership Specialist or Service Unit Manager.
