Who is a Daisy Girl Scout/The Story of Juliette Low

Each story in this book is a short read meant to introduce girls to Daisy Girl Scouts and initiate conversation about what Daisies do in Girl Scouting.

Take an introductory look at being a Daisy Girl Scout. This fun short story is a great way to share with new Daisies what being a "Daisy" Girl Scout is all about.

On the flip side of this book is a wonderful short story about our founder. From childhood to the founding of the Girl Scout movement girls get their first glimpse of how it all began.

Ceremonies in Girl Scouting
Let's Celebrate! Girl Scout Ceremonies

Girl Scouting and ceremonies go hand in hand. "Before Brownie Girl Scouts were considered part of the Girl Scout national program, Girl Scout ceremonies became a popular tool for leaders to prepare 10 year old Brownies to make their transition to Girl Scouts." Now these popular ceremony tools help you prepare Daisy Girl Scouts for the transition to Brownie Girl Scouts too!

There are a wide variety of ideas in both books for leaders to utilize. Remember, there is not a "right" way to organize and carry out a ceremony (flag etiquette makes the only exception to this rule) except to say that it fits the needs of your group.

"Ceremonies in Girl Scouting." Check out pages 20-22 special Daisy ceremony ideas, 24-28 for ideas on opening and closing ceremonies, as well as, a Daisy Investiture ceremony.

"Let's Celebrate! Girl Scout Ceremonies." Learn more in this new informative ceremony book just released by GSUSA! Check out page 7 for the Three Basic Parts of a ceremony. Want to prepare for a Court of Awards? Take a look on page 34 for the Daisy level. The fun doesn't end here, but it is a good place to start.

*Don't for get to utilize the Ceremony Worksheet found in either book, when planning your ceremony.

*Special training dates are occasionally set throughout the year to help you in planning ceremonies. Check your Eventual Happenings training section or In the Loop for new dates, time and place.
