Ceremonies in Girl Scouting
Let's Celebrate! Girl Scout Ceremonies

Girl Scouting and ceremonies go hand in hand. "Before Brownie Girl Scouts were considered part of the Girl Scout national program, Girl Scout ceremonies became a popular tool for leaders to prepare 10 year old Brownies to make their transition to Girl Scouts."

There are a wide variety of ideas in both books for leaders to utilize. Remember, there is not a "right" way to organize and carry out a ceremony (flag etiquette makes the only exception to this rule) except to say that it fits the needs of your group.

"Ceremonies in Girl Scouting." As a Brownie leader more of the ideas listed in this book are available for use in your troop. The Brownie Girl Scout Investiture Ceremony goes hand in hand with The Brownie Story and Brownie Tale found in the Brownie Girl Scout Handbook. New to leadership? Check out ideas for opening and closing ceremonies for ideas to use with your troop.

"Let's Celebrate! Girl Scout Ceremonies." Learn more in this new informative ceremony book just released by GSUSA! Check out page 7 for the Three Basic Parts of a ceremony. Want to prepare for a Court of Awards? Take a look on page 35 for the Brownie level. The fun doesn't end here, but it is a good place to start.

*Don't forget to utilize the Ceremony Worksheet found in either book when planning your ceremony.

*Special training dates are occasionally set throughout the year to help you in planning ceremonies. Check your Eventual Happenings training section or In the Loop for new dates, time and place.
