Camp Cherokee Ridge, the resident camp of Girl Scouts of Otahki Council, is approximately 70 miles west of Cape Girardeau.  It is located on the St. Francis River near Sam A. Baker State Park.
At camp:

·       Girls and staff live in screened-in cabins, six to eight cabins per unit (4 girls per cabin).

·       Cots and mattresses are provided for each camper.

·       Units are equipped with latrine/shower houses and unit shelters for group activities.

·       Campers also utilize a central bathhouse at the pool.

Facilities for all camp use include a dining hall, shower house, swimming pool, a 22-acre lake, canoes, horses, stable, riding rings, hillside chapel, open-air pavilion, open spaces for sports and games, hiking trails, horseback riding trails, and many beautiful wooded areas for nature and environmental study.

Camp Staff - Interested in becoming a Girl Scout Camp Staff Member? If you are  18 years old, enjoy the out-of-doors, and love children, then this is the job for you. Positions include counselors, lifeguards, horseback riding instructors, and medics. Just fill out and return the Camp Staff Application to the Girl Scout Service Center.

Girls have the opportunity to plan and experience all program activities at camp.  Canoeing, swimming, hiking, crafts, horseback riding, badge work, outdoor skills, nature study, and sports provide opportunities for girls to enjoy the world of Girl Scouting, while discovering new skills and interests.

During certain sessions, girls may work toward or complete various recognitions.  Girls attending a specialty session will have emphasis placed on a specific area of interest.  Time is built into the camp schedule for girls to relax, enjoy the world of out-of-doors and build friendships.  Evening
activities are planned by the campers and include bonfires, evening swims, scavenger hunts, sports, games, etc
